What we do

We are committed to providing direct resources and to act as a catalyst for the creation and development of a network of strategic partners.

Leadership Development

Strong communities depend on informed, capable, and ethical leadership.

The Foundation supports programs and initiatives that develop, promote, and sustain a diverse pipeline of emerging leaders from communities that have historically been underrepresented in civic, nonprofit, and professional leadership roles. These efforts help strengthen community institutions, foster civic engagement, and ensure that leadership reflects the communities it serves.

Advancement of Education

Education is a cornerstone of opportunity and long-term success.

GIBF promotes and supports educational initiatives that enhance academic achievement, skill development, and lifelong learning for students and learners who face persistent educational disparities. Our focus includes scholarships, mentoring, enrichment programs, and partnerships that expand access to educational resources and pathways to post-secondary success.

Economic Development

Economic stability is essential to individual and community wellbeing.

The Foundation supports initiatives that promote financial literacy, workforce development, entrepreneurship, and access to economic opportunity for individuals and families experiencing economic inequities. By strengthening economic capacity, GIBF helps foster self-sufficiency, business growth, and long-term community prosperity.

Healthy Living

Healthy communities are the foundation of a thriving society.

GIBF invests in programs that promote wellness and improve health outcomes in communities disproportionately affected by health disparities. These efforts include health education, access to preventive services, and partnerships that address social determinants of health and improve overall quality of life.
